I am pleased and honored to be accepting an award today from my fellow blogger, Lauralee beautifulcourageousyou.
.
Thank you Lauralee for thinking of my blog for this honor. (see: http://beautifulcourageousyou.wordpress.com/2013/11/05/award-dearest-nomination/)
Here are answers for the acceptance questions required of the award:
- What does writing do for you?
I write for various reasons. Writing is beneficial — emotionally balancing. I write for my work and I once in a while get challenges that cause me to fret but usually I enjoy the work entirely. I write here on my blog and this is rewarding to me because what I put here is of most interest to me. Actually most of my posts are inspirational and this inspires me as I gather these together. I enjoy science posts because these are areas usually that I want to understand more myself.
_ - What writer feeds your soul? Why?
The person that jumped immediately in my mind is Pierre Teilhard de Chardin because he was the first Christian author that I’d read and I’ve read many of his books and essays. I also enjoy reading C.S. Lewis stories with my son and we discuss these. I read the Bible daily – for example 1 John. I loved science fiction and Frank Herbert’s Dune series and others of his along with many books by Ursula K. Le Guin were favorites. These and other work change how I perceive others and myself — we all fit better into the puzzle of life as I explore more in reading other’s works.
_ - What is your favorite subject (category) to write about?
Well, I like to find inspirations, but I suppose I most enjoy writing about science of the universe.
_ - What post of yours means the most to you? Why?
I had a wonderful experience one day that I briefly shared: https://hunt4truth.wordpress.com/2013/10/01/i-am-the-tree-today/. The post contains the why of the experience being meaningful for me.
_ - What about you will be most instrumental in God’s eternal plan for you, whatever that may be?
I may not speak for God; I think that I am a good teacher, but what would be in eternity for me to teach is an unknown. I will be pleased to be doing whatever work there is for me there.
_ - What are you most passionate about in ministry and/or life in general?
I enjoy mentoring adults that need a second chance.
_ - If your writing were discovered a thousand years from now, what would people learn about you, today’s world, and your interests?
I am Christian and I enjoy a variety of interests, ideas and people.
_ - Talk about meeting your favorite Bible character (not Jesus).
I’d like to meet the apostles and especially Thomas. I’d ask them about the trials of being apostles after Jesus ascended and I suppose their views would be fascinating especially since they are in the Kingdom now. I’d love to learn from Noah how he built the ark.
_ - Describe your writing process for something that moves you deeply.
I am deeply moved by the working of our universe and yet it is of course a great mystery in many ways. So, I do research and then I make an outline and many-many edits usually. I keep my writing brief because I try my best to make things interesting for a broad audience – and especially since most blog follows are not because of my science interests.
_ - Describe your perfect meal and ultimate dessert.
I love a tender juicy steak, salad, potato, and crisp green beans and I don’t really want usually to have a dessert at the same time. However, I love to have apple pie and French vanilla ice cream. Probably this seems simple – it is.
_
My next step is to pass this award on to other bloggers. I’ll enjoy working on that in the next few weeks.
Thanks for visiting.
