My son has a new homework journal.
They were learning about Haiku poems this week.
I read the assignment in his journal entry.
So, I was to journal back.
.
Here are the poems:
1) son
the howling forest
is frozen cold and snowy
just a winter dream
.
2) me
expanding spacetime
confounds mind’s eye glare
races off to nought
.
My son’s assignment entry defined the Haiku as being a lyric poem that is usually about nature in just three lines. The first and third line may have 5 syllabus (moras) and the second has seven.

Thanks for visiting.

Make a Difference!
I don’t understand Haiku but that’s just because I like rhymes 😉
Good job for both of you.
interesting verse.. I am glad you explained the poem. I just cannot remember Haiku. Although, there is a famous spiritual poet in Japan who used to write Hauku well. http://www.poetseers.org/spiritual-and-devotional-poets/buddhist/ryokan/
according to the online source that I looked at (when I got the assignment book) the origin is Japan. The first recorded Haiku were for song and prayer and for entertainment in the Japanese Imperial Court and other such places that promoted academic development.
