Nineteenth century Austrian painter Klimt is known for his highly decorative style and erotic works. Klimt was a controversial figure in his time. His work was constantly criticized for being too sensual and erotic, and his symbolism too deviant.
His decorative works began as a rebellion against the traditional academic art of his time. This is most famous of his work entitled.

I visited many galleries online while looking at Klimt works.
I linked some above and here is another CLICK as well.
The Klimt Golden Paintings received a very wide positive reaction and these were very successful paintings.
These paintings used gold leaf paint.
They include Pallas Athene (1898), Judith I (1901), Goldener Apfelbaum 1903, the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I (1907), and The Kiss (1907-1908).
Was Klimt perhaps inspired by works
from Piero della Francesca (1415 – 1492)?
.
I wondered — I looked — I didn’t find an answer.
They both put a mystical beauty in their works — what do I know?
Klimt’s painting are overall better preserved.
Most of Francesca’s are badly damaged.
The above,
Legend of the Cross
is about the best blog photo

Great post! I’ve always admired his work. (Can you do me a favor? I was looking back on your past posts and couldn’t find the link to a video you posted not too long ago. It’s the one with the scientist who theorized that God started out as a pea sized ball of consciousness and expanded. Hoping this would jog your memory. Could you give me the link to the video? Thanks!)
You probably clicked my “universe extension cosmic distance ladder” and that took your browser through the blogospheres to http://www.exploreyouruniverse.org/
You possibly are referring to the first video:
Let me know if I guessed right/wrong about what video you wanted to see again.
Do you know about RealDownloader? I use it for websites to download video that I want to watch more than once. I have Free Youtube Downloader as well. … both have stand alone free video downloaders… just MAKE SURE to very carefully disable all the radio (selection) buttons because they both have defaults that will otherwise put other ad-ons onto your computer. I have an uninstaller too — Revo Uninstaller — in case my son gets adware and Internet toolbars on our computers. Any of these and many more are available at CNET.com
So glad you posted this! One of my favorites- a great way to begin the day
You like the colors probably and humanity in them and nature — I like that and the way Klimt had bright paintings – there was a mystical shine like the light from a window. I once viewed a painting in North Carolina that was so awesome – I wish I had a picture of it – it was lost though – those were the days of 35MM and actual film rolls. The sanctuary is now owned by a tourist type organization that has catering and parties and wedding planning and things unrelated to the sanctuary that was there… apparently the history of that painting is only in my memory. Its not even something that can be described in words – it was awesome like Spirit.
Art can truly leave an impression. Klimt’s paintings always fascinated me.
Klimt is the best! 🙂
I wanted to be him when I was younger… LOL
haha! I can understand! 🙂
I did some research – it was long ago too – and it seems that Klimt was rumored and apparently he was happy to act as though there were truth when perhaps there was not really anything more than work going on… he was a man of mystery and intrigue though and his painting are mystically awesome.
