Empathy is the ability to see the world as another person, to share and understand another person’s feelings, needs, concerns and/or emotional state… understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another… not trying to solve the problems of another, the goal being to share the experiences of feelings; to let them know you’re there and that how they feel matters to you.

Being an empath is much more than being highly sensitive and it’s not just limited to emotions. Sometimes life is unconsciously influenced by others’ desires, wishes, thoughts, and moods.

If sensitivity is a deficiency and a burden, we become weary, needy and very vulnerable… retracting joy into fears and upsets… and self-destructive harm. At this layer of development, the adolescent or adult empath will model co-dependent behaviors… children that are not growing up in an openly accepting loving home may begin modeling co-dependent behaviors before even two years old.

All of us need strong, healthy community supports, shared language at these, and empaths may need to have opportunities to unload the burden of fatigue and emotional upset. With belonging, progress to cultivate personal preferences and learned practices that increase healthy social interaction within the support community. This will strengthen mind, body, extend calm and help remaining grounded.

Empaths need not resign themselves to belief founded on anxiety or past emotional upsets that they must suffer the consequences of a tel-empathic interaction. With guidance from adepts, you may even begin to alter the mood and emotion of others… adjusting them into your calm. Insecurity and immaturity, lack of awareness, inappropriate co-dependent behaviors, use of manipulation, psychosocial drams, etc. can be addressed.

A happy empath extends joy. The ability to perform so, to extend joy always reduces any vulnerabilities.

Don’t take consciousness for granted

Simon Lewis is a film and television producer and author. After earning law degrees from Christ’s College Cambridge and Boalt Hall, Berkeley, Lewis moved to Los Angeles, CA. Hollywood experiences include managing writers, directors and stars, and producing “Look Who’s Talking” and critically acclaimed films such as “The Chocolate War” which was an Emmy-winning international production for HBO and ITV Central.

Rise and Shine

The Extraordinary Story of One Man’s Journey from Near Death to Full Recovery

Lewis is the author of Rise and Shine, his memoir that uses his personal story of recovery from coma to illustrate insights about consciousness. Lewis uses visualizations from medicine, scientific research and digital art to illustrate solutions for society’s pressing problems such as the erosion of consciousness and our need for solutions to extend mind by cognitive and other therapies.

As an advocate for change to educate our children and ourselves, Lewis says we must not take our consciousness for granted. We must screen and detect learning problems diminish barriers, and prevent academic failure to bridge gaps of potential mind and maximize consciousness.

“When I was thirty-five, my wife and I were both reported dead by the first paramedics to arrive at the scene of a seventy-five-mile-an-hour hit-and-run. My wife Marcy died instantly that day. With brain damage from a massive stroke and my body broken, I wasn’t expected to survive either.”

So begins Rise and Shine, a dramatic story of Simon Lewis and his remarkable recovery from a horrific car accident to navigate the health insurance maze, Rise and Shine is an extraordinary first-person account of unexpected tragedy and life-affirming courage.

Rise and Shine demonstrates that patients achieve maximum regeneration to rebuild their lives probably only when there is a great deal of help and support from their family and caregivers.

Enjoy this story about what it means to return to life after a near-death experience. Rise and Shine is an exploration of the nature of consciousness itself, and its a fascinating tale of survival and recovery.

Description: After a catastrophic car accident that left him in a coma, Simon Lewis found ways to recover — physically and mentally — beyond all expectations. At the INK Conference he tells how this remarkable story led him to concern over all threats to consciousness, and how to overcome them.

“Authentic wisdom is the ability to monitor yourself at all times to determine your relative state of weakness or strength, and to shift out of those thoughts that weaken you.” Wayne Dyer, 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace

I was reflecting on authenticity and that as I am out and about or busy with my work that the love that I seek is not really Love… but that it is a state of consciousness in my mind and that it really is based on body sensations and notions, however subtle,  that are not true and wholesome like the ideal of love. True love does not come and go and it cannot be found in the world and as I stayed with this, with the stillness, I knew love cannot be found one moment and then lost in another. This presence with Love is timeless, without objects and it might be characterized, although there are no properties in the stillness, I’m saying it is a Self-knowing, Self-recognizing peaceful and serene consciousness of I know this awareness.. a consciousness I recall the experience of as like I’d been in a deep sleep and it is refreshing like a deep object-less sleep.

“we are holographic“

Inner Work

Mirror Work

Inner Work

“we are holographic”

John Wheeler demonstrated “the universe is a self-referential ‘strange loop’ in which physics gives rise to observers, then rise to information, which in turn gives rise to physics.” What we find here is something quite similar. We’ll discover that mirror relationships create a strange loop as well. An observation changes the perceiving when we focus upon the lessons, changes the information, changes the relationship, changes the information, changes the evolution, changes the observers, changes the physics.

Within, consciousness is fractal-holographic to the exact same awareness and health and state of mind in our every fiber as the mind is aligned. It is as though the past is healed when we heal an emotional wound in the present. THIS IS TRUE: When a pattern occurs in the present and it is healed, the pattern is healed throughout the past… everywhere.

David Bohm’s interpretation of quantum mechanics, overall worldview, and Special Relativity use what he referred to as the holomovement. Holomovement is “undivided wholeness” in process of becoming by “universal flux” not static oneness. By dynamic wholeness-in-motion, everything moves with an interconnectedness as though separared in space and time and yet is always every thing connected with everything else. Bohm expanded his ideas in his book, Wholeness and the Implicate Order, 1980. He included this in Special Relativity afterwards in 1981.

In this note (post), I include a course for you in holo-mirror, holo-movement. This is VERY POWERFUL work as this video demonstrates:

At 13:41 Gregg presents a graphic with a list of the seven mirrors:
1. Mirror of the Moment
2. Mirror of that which is Judged
3. Mirror of that which is Lost/Given Away/Taken Away
4. Mirror of Most Forgotten Love
5. Mirror of Father/Mother
6. Mirror of Your Quest into Darkness
7. Mirror of Self Perception
.

— everyone is a mirror —

every important person is an important mirror

— this always applies —

every important person is an important mirror

— everyone is a mirror —

seven mirror patterns

The First Mirror is my presence in the now moment… what we reflect by others in the present… what we radiate in the moment.

The Second Mirror is only very subtlety different but it reflects back to us that which we judge. It is what we have been wounded by and have an emotional charge on. It can be something we have done in the past that we have not forgiven. It is good to discern however that when we condemn another with an emotional charge we are most likely judging ourselves. This mirror is more difficult to understand as most people find it difficult to see the deeply wounded emotions within. We often think we have forgiven people and situations, when in fact they weaved subtlety into the very fabric of our being.

The Third Mirror reflects back to us something we have lost, given away or had taken away. When we see something we love in another it is often something we have lost, given away or that has been stolen within our personal lives. Every relationship is a relationship with the self and often we try to reclaim what we lost, gave away or had taken away as a child. All of which can be reclaimed within self. When we give away our power to another person, we suffer a form of soul loss, without realizing we send out a subtle frequency that others can feel, if they are experiencing the same energy loss, you will attract the same pattern of behavior back to you.

The Fourth Mirror reflects back to us our most forgotten love. This could be a way of life, or a lost or unfinished relationship. Often it is a past life where a wrong conclusion from a prior experience was made. These will recreate themselves over and over and over again until the conclusion is registered in the soul as wisdom. This is the most difficult to come to terms with as we all have made these sort of choices in our life, to leave someone, a place or much loved home, the pain of such a decision will imprint upon the soul or body hologram, once the lesson has been recognized you no longer attract these circumstances to you.

The Fifth Mirror reflects back Father/Mother. It is frequently stated that we marry our father or mother. We may display both healthy and unhealthy patterns we learned as a child. Our father and mother are often like Gods to us and so we will often reflect aspects of our relationship with them onto our partners. We often choose our partners based on our relationship with our parents.

The Sixth Mirror reflects back to us the Quest for Darkness or what is often referred to as a dark night of the soul. This is where we meet our greatest challenges, our greatest fears, and have been gathering the tools from life to confront and deal with. The most important thing to remember is that our soul is giving us the opportunity to grow and evolve, this will help us remove the vibration of victim. If we see these as opportunities for spiritual growth and from a perspective of soul advancement, they do not have to be feared; it is just passing through our life, asking us to seek answers from within rather than relying on others for answers.

The Seventh Mirror reflects back to us our self-perception. Others will perceive and treat us according to how we perceive and treat ourselves. If we are under a low self-esteem and do not accept our wisdom and beauty, others will not acknowledge them. If we are angry, bitter and unloving to others, they in turn will often react in the same way towards us. If we find another perception of ourselves, we alter the world. Maybe it is time to be kind, loving and compassionate with ourselves and others.

Combine mirror work with asking yourself… “Am I playing a role?” If you can recognize that you or the other is playing a role as Victim, Rescuer, or Persecutor, you will be able to accomplish far easier use of the mirror lessons.

Self-mastery skills in 5 minutes for a life changer overhaul
of Victim, Rescuer, Persecutor – Karpman Drama Triangle

This Essene work is tremendously powerful but very subtle.
.
Pay close attention to the training.
.
The ancient Essene had a very sophisticated understanding of interpersonal human relationships and the role of emotion in those relationships. It’s the role of emotion that we have carefully sifted out of our Western experience up until very recently. Now, as we go back into these texts, we see that it is emotion that proves the power and, when coupled with logic, true magic and miracles occur.
.
Qualities that we see in the people around us are directly related to our own traits that attract the mirroring others.

When you learn to love and value yourself, you can experience a piece of heaven! In this video clip, Anita Moorjani, (author of Dying to Be Me) talks about her near-death experience with lymphoma and how it helped her to understand what our illnesses can teach us and what really matters most in our lives.

Anita Moorjani Shares Her Near Death Experience

In her inspirational memoir, Dying to Be Me, about fighting cancer and crossing the boundary between life and death, Anita Moorjani tries to give readers an understanding of her miraculous near death experience. Is there really a border between heaven and earth, between time and eternity?

During my near-death experience (NDE), it felt as if I were connected to the entire universe and everything contained within it; and it seemed that the cosmos was alive, dynamic, and conscious. I found that every thought, emotion, or action I made while expressing through the physical body had an effect on the Whole. In fact, in that realm of Oneness, it felt as though the whole universe were an extension of me. This realization has, of course, dramatically changed the way I view things. We’re all co-creating this world and our lives within it through our…

A guide to personal freedom, B4Peace, Bruce McGill, Dawn of the Heart, Disengaging from the matrix, Harold W. Becker, Lynn Collins, Michael Ealy, Sylvia Boorstein, Teal Swan, Unconditional Love

“Kindness in words creates confidence.
Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
Kindness in giving creates love.”

~ Lao Tzu

A guide to personal freedom …
disengaging from the matrix.

.

Awareness

Step 1
Awakening free will and personal freedom

I’ll borrow from Transcendentalist, Ralph Waldo Emerson. If you have time to ponder this, you may agree: “For non-conformity, the world whips you with its displeasure.” It may seem as “clapped into jail by his own consciousness.” Personal fulfillment requires disengaging from society and embracing physical and intellectual solitude … “Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members,” Emerson argues. Let us not cease making progress. There is a way to accept what is and be free.

Step 2
Being Loving Kindness

Loving-kindness meditation practice is mindfully practicing kindness for positive growth; practicing systematically developing qualities of loving-acceptance. Loving-kindness acts as a form of self-psychotherapy, a way of healing the troubled mind to free it from its pain and confusion. Loving-kindness has the immediate benefit of sweetening patterns of mind.

.

Step 3
Unconditional Love

Now, join Harold W. Becker as he hosts this hour long powerful presentation of inspiration and insight on how to become aware of, embrace and experience unconditional love throughout your life.

.

Through this easy to follow, practical and simple guide, Harold builds a foundation of understanding with the Fundamentals of Life, Unconditional Love, and Dawn of the Heart. His unique definition of unconditional love as “an unlimited way of being” allows you to find new levels of personal freedom. Learn the basics of who you are, how you think and feel, and why love is the transformative element for positive change. The program includes a beautiful guided visualization and concludes with an uplifting vision for the future of this planet. Written and created by Harold and produced as a national PBS television special in 1997 with WLRN-Miami. This video has been digitally re-mastered and also made available as a DVD. Light – Healing … Biontology

23 Thursday Oct 2014

Biophoton Therapy, Chiren measuring instrument, Institute of Applied Biophoton Sciences, Johan Boswinkel, Schwab Technologies

I am discovering amazing healing information since connections in June at Facebook. I had avoided Facebook for several years. However, you might have noticed I was less active at this blog a bit at a time. Now, I am returning here with a lot of new ideas and understanding. You know it will be about healing and serenity — that is sure.

I will be here less than I had been. I hope to begin writing more again and there is much still to learn from hundreds of research articles that are piling up in my bookmarks. I love all of my good wordpress friends.

I am in a great light and this is a good place to be; I am stronger and happier, and serenity is sweet. I will be researching more though and posting less it may seem — here at wordpress. Certainly, I will make every effort to visit all of your blogs and share comments as much as I can.

I made some wonderful discoveries that I want to write about. 2014 is a good year for me.

.

So – let’s look at human energy and light today – biontology precisely:

Similar to magnetic induction in metal wires, the human electromagnetic field can be felt and can influence other people. From your experience, do some people create a feeling within you when you are close to them?

  • When close to some people, you may feel as if your body and mind becomes more energised, more hopeful and optimistic.
  • When close to other people, you may feel as if your energy drains away, a depressing or lazy feeling.

.

Biophotons-Genes

.

Scientific studies have shown that our bodies emit a faint glowing light that regulates our biochemical processes. Human beings, like every life form, each have a unique energy signature and light. When signals from another origin may disturb the integrity of light, symptoms may appear. Disruptive signals may for example originate from bacteria, vaccinations, cell phone radiation, trauma or bad relationships.

Biophoton Therapy has proven to significantly benefit people with a wide range of conditions: Allergies & Asthma, Anxiety / Depression, Blood Pressure, Cardiovascular, Chronic Fatigue, Crohn’s Disease, Disorders Migraines, Dyslexia, EMF disturbances, Environmental Illnesses Gallstones, Glaucoma, Hashimotos, Herpes, Hormonal Imbalances, Immune System, Lyme Disease, MS, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, Nose / Throat Polyps, Prostate Problems, Shingles, Sports Injuries, Thyroid imbalances.

In this illuminating interview, Johan Boswinkel explains the theory of Biontology and how this faint light can be used to detect illness and support a healthy body. Johan Boswinkel, Johan has been working with biophotons since 1982. He, together with Dr. Schwab of Schwab Technologies, Germany, co-engineered the Chiren measuring instrument.

This program, I promise is extraordinary:

.

.

The Institute of Applied Biophoton Sciences is based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Johan Boswinkel who has been working with biophotons since 1982 founded the Academy in The Netherlands as part of the Health Angel Foundation. Boswinkel: “If all the information required to control the body’s biochemical processes is in the light that the body emits, and if disturbances in that light disrupt biochemical processes and cause disease — as Popp [German biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp] claimed — then it must be possible to ‘examine’ the light and remove the disease. Then you return the ‘repaired’ light to the body. If it works, it will have enormous consequences for everything.” In time, Boswinkel developed a device that uses fiber-optic technology to conduct biophotons to and from the body, continually improving the quality of the light through its biofeedback system.

Rapid Eye Movement PTSD Treatment

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EDMR)

The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense issued clinical practice guidelines that recommend EDMR for the treatment of PTSD. Perhaps, the rapid eye movement allows the patient less opportunity to consciously react to the distress that they are reviewing. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. Positive controlled outcome studies demonstrate that >80% of single-trauma victims no longer have post-traumatic stress after only three 90-minute sessions. Reportedly, Kaiser Permanente, found that 100% of the single-trauma victims and 77% of multiple trauma victims no longer suffer with PTSD after only six 50-minute sessions. EMDR Institute, Inc. reported that 77% of combat veterans were free of PTSD in 12 sessions.

.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EDMR) 20/20 Report

.
Francine Shapiro is the originator and developer of EMDR.

In 1987, she made the chance observation that moving her eyes from side to side appeared to reduce the disturbance of negative thoughts and memories. This experience led her to examine this phenomenon more systematically. Working with approximately 70 volunteers, she developed standardized procedures to maximize therapeutic outcomes, conducted additional research and a published randomized controlled study with trauma victims. After further research and elaboration of the methodology, she published a textbook in 1995 detailing the eight phases of this form of psychotherapy. EMDR is now recommended as an effective treatment for trauma in numerous international practice guidelines, including those of the American Psychiatric Association and the Department of Defense.

Dr. Shapiro is a Senior Research Fellow Emeritus at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California, Executive Director of the EMDR Institute in Watsonville, CA, and founder and President Emeritus of the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs, a non-profit organization that coordinates disaster response and low fee training worldwide. see also: https://www.emdr.com/

the biology of belief

A human being is not a “single” living entity, we are actually a community of upwards of fifty trillion sentient cellular citizens. In truth, we are “skin-covered” Petri dishes containing trillions of cells. The culture medium in our bodies is the blood. Consequently, the fate of our body’s cells is influenced by the composition of our blood in the same manner that the fate of cultured stem cells are influenced by changing the chemistry of the culture environment (Note: Yes, the above has already been stated in other posts in the biology of belief blog).

The big question then amounts to, “What controls the chemistry of our blood, which in turn influences the fate of our health and biology?” As mentioned above, the trillions of cells comprising our bodies are organized into a massive community, within which cells take on specialized functions to support the life of the community. Epigenetics is a foundational Frontier Science for Positive Human Evolution.

heart_DNA_sine

The Biology of Belief is a groundbreaking work in the field of new biology. Theories of evolution and genetics have long taught that genetic mutation is entirely beyond our control. However, genetics has been gradually discovering that we may establish that some self-directed biological transformations occur.

Scientific evidence clearly is demonstrating that emotions effect health, job performance, relationships and much more. You are what you feel and think.

Author Dr. Bruce H. Lipton is a former medical school professor and research scientist. His experiments, and those of other leading-edge scientists, have examined in great detail the mechanisms by which cells receive and process information. The implications of this research radically change our understanding of life. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology; that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic feeling messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts. Dr. Liptons’s profoundly hopeful synthesis of the latest and best research in cell biology and quantum physics is being hailed as a major breakthrough, showing that our bodies can be changed as we retrain our thinking.

.

.

Program Description
Through the research of Dr Lipton and other leading-edge scientists, stunning new discoveries have been made about the interaction between your mind and body and the processes by which cells receive information. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology, that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our thoughts. Using simple language, illustrations, humor, and everyday examples, he demonstrates how the new science of Epigenetics is revolutionizing our understanding of the link between mind and matter and the profound effects it has on our personal lives and the collective life of our species. This paperback edition of The Biology of Belief fully updates and revises the material from the bestselling original edition, and adds material in the light of the seismic effect the book has had.

Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, one of the world’s leading spiritual teachers, is a man at great peace even as he predicts the possible collapse of civilisation within 100 years as a result of runaway climate change.

The 86-year-old Vietnamese monk, who has hundreds of thousands of followers around the world, believes the reason most people are not responding to the threat of global warming, despite overwhelming scientific evidence, is that they are unable to save themselves from their own personal suffering, never mind worry about the plight of Mother Earth.

Thay, as he is known, says it is possible to be at peace if you pierce through our false reality, which is based on the idea of life and death, to touch the ultimate dimension in Buddhist thinking, in which energy cannot be created or destroyed.

By recognising the inter-connectedness of all life, we can move beyond the…

Branden introduces the six pillars — six action-based practices for daily living — providing a foundation for self-esteem and explores the central importance of self-esteem in the five areas of the workplace, parenting, education, psychotherapy, and the culture at large.

No one may be successful if bypassing their basic needs for self-esteem. The ego is not a thing to fight against. It is not even available for debate. The ego is a sense of needs that we may mistakenly believe is the self. However, by opening to greater self-awareness, we come to understand that the ego is just a function of temporary needs messages. I hope that this program and the related links are helpful. I know I attain growth by reviewing of these basic life skills.

Strength Through Pathogenesis
and Pathophysiology of Depression

by Reigh Simuzoshya

.

Scientists have been searching for more evidence with regard to pathogenesis and pathophysiology of depression and the resultant neurobiological effects thereof. But the elucidation of the underlying pathophysiology of this condition continues to be elusive. Some theories claim that depression is linked to a dysfunction of the dopaminergic and GABA-ergic system. Others assert that it is associated with a deficit of norepinephrine and serotonin exacerbated by an alteration in the expression of neuropeptides. Yet another theory claims that the overdrive of the hypothalamic-pituitary adrenal system is another risk factor for depression.

Chances are that a combination of all these factors can certainly intensify the onset of depression.

Grace by Nathan Furr free photo #12440Depression can be draining. It can take away your energy, dampen your hopes for the future and your drive. It even cripples the desire to do what is needed to feel better. Scientists tell us that some of the symptoms of depression include agitation, significant low sex drive, being irritable, having digestive disorders, experiencing headaches, being fatigued, having feelings of guilty and helplessness as well as insomnia. But there are also times when depressed people might want to sleep all the time.

Although the word ‘depression’ does not appear in the Bible except in the New Living Translation, there are many people who manifested depressive symptoms in the Bible such as Elijah, Hannah, King Saul, John the Baptist, Jeremiah, Job and many others. God does not get upset, nor does He punish us just because we experience discouragement and depression. These disorders are often triggered by events beyond our control such as the death of a loved one, divorce or loss of job.

Living in a fallen, sinful world means that we will experience the tragic dimensions of life from time to time until the Lord comes to take us home.

The joy of our salvation is in the confident assurance of God’s manward abundant mercies and in the realization that He responds to our hurts as a loving Father. The Bible says in Psalm 34:18 that the LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. It also says “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever,” (John 14:16). Furthermore, knowing that Jesus was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53: 3) means that He is not a stranger to our suffering, and because He has already been there and has overcome, we also can overcome through Him. This is our hope and our strength through it all.

Do you know that God is more interested in your health than you could ever be?

The Bible is full of holistic principles and guidelines, which, if applied consistently, can prevent disease and promote optimum health. Preventive measures are often less costly than curative therapies, and these principles can be applied at individual, family, and community levels.

The human body is a fearful and wonderful machine, capable of performing incredible functions. God has stamped his own image on it. How absurd it is then to look elsewhere other than to the omnipotent and omniscient Manufacturer of the human body for guidelines regarding its well-being and health?

Far from being an obsolete and archaic document saturated with myths and superstition, the Bible is a rich repository, an inexhaustible mine, of counsel for all facets of life, including health and longevity.

Explore the time-tested, efficacious principles that are foundational for disease prevention, health enhancement, and long life straight from the creator of our bodies himself with “The Perfect Prescription.”

The authors argue that understanding the complexity of nature requires holistic thinking. I agree.

So, does nature influence how we think? According to recent research out of the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, connectedness with nature may influence cognitive styles. The research team, led by Carmen Lai Yin Leong, conducted two studies with Singaporean secondary students as participants. In the first study, Leong and her team examined how connectedness with nature correlated with innovative and holistic cognitive styles. The second study explored connectedness with nature and its potential to predict cognitive styles.

The first study consisted of 138 adolescents (46 percent female) with an average age of 15 years. Participants completed an online survey consisting of questionnaires that measured connectedness to nature, nature relatedness, analytic versus holistic thinking preference, and creative style (innovative or adaptive). The results showed statistically significant correlations between connectedness with nature and innovative and holistic thinking. Innovative thinkers are open-minded, whereas, adaptive thinkers, at the opposite end…

Your Brain on Emotions

Here again, presentation of yet more evidence that we need mindful awareness and inner peace.

Emanation

“Emotions are related to activity in brain areas that direct our attention, motivate our behaviour, and determine the significance of what is going on around us.”

It is so important to keep this in mind because heightened emotions have such a powerful and far-reaching impact on our lives, and the lives of those around us. Our emotions determine what we notice, how we react, and how we perceive and evaluate our environment. It’s no wonder that things look better in the morning when you’re feeling more composed. At that point your emotions are more under control, more bearable, because the immediate intensity of your emotional reaction has dissipated. This then has a calming effect on your perception of your circumstances; you tend see things in a calmer light, which then results in more mediated behaviour.

It’s just another reason why mindfulness it so important. And now neuroscience provides the…

You Can Transform Your Own Biology
Self-Directed Biological Transformation Initiative
A New Frontier ‘Consciousome’

To date, one of biology’s greatest achievements, mapping the human genome, is only just beginning to translate into medical advances. But in 2014 there will likely be more headlines about another type of study in genetics that is already impacting everyone.

We are referring to a different aspect of our genome, which radically revises a model that is decades old, dating back as far as the original discovery of DNA. In the original model, the effects of our genes were considered to be fixed and unchanging, controlling every aspect of our physical makeup, behavior, and susceptibility to disease. Not just eye color, height, and other physical characteristics were predetermined by inherited genes, but perhaps all kinds of behaviors, from criminality to belief in God.

The new model, however, portrays a more fluid, dynamic genome that responds quickly, even instantly, to all that we experience, including how you think, feel, speak, and act. Every day brings new evidence that the mind-body connection reaches right down to the activities of our genes. How this activity changes in response to our life experiences is referred to as “epigenetics.” Regardless of the nature of the genes we inherit from our parents, dynamic change at this level allows us almost unlimited influence on our fate.

Theories of evolution and genetics have long taught that genetic mutation is entirely random. However, genetics has been gradually stepping into a new era of “self-directed biological transformation,” a mouthful perhaps, but with great significance in each word:

  • Self-Directed:  Voluntary activity in your thoughts, feelings, habits, and desires. This is the realm of personal choice
  • Biological: Effects at every level of the mind-body system, including reactions by your genetic material
  • Transformation: Major shifts in cellular activity leading to physiological changes

This means that control is being given back to each person; we are no longer seen as puppets of our DNA. The human genome is set to be the stage for future evolution that we ourselves direct, making choice an integral part of genetics. This is in stark contrast to the “biology as destiny” view where genes override choice. Unless decisions, lifestyle, environment, and personal preferences are included, a full picture of the mysteries of our DNA cannot be attained.

The speed and extent of change at the genetic level would astonish researchers even a few years ago. Yoga and meditation, for example, can trigger almost immediate responses in genetic activity. Exercise, a balanced diet, good sleep, and stress reduction—all well-known for improving bodily function—exert beneficial effects via our genes. So the next frontier will be to discover how deep and lasting such changes are, how much control we have over them individually, and how they can be passed on to future generations through so-called “soft inheritance,” in which the parents’ life experiences and behavior directly influence the genome of their offspring (transmitted via the epigenome, which controls how the activities of our genes are turned up and down).

How Genes Deliver Results

Genes don’t simply switch on and off but work on a sliding scale, more like a rheostat. In addition, genes communicate fluidly, so that the old view, where a single gene determined a single characteristic, like eye color, must be revised. There are some genetically determined characteristics that require only a single gene, but they are relatively rare. The vast number of genetic influences are created by a dance or symphony of genes delivering dynamic input to the whole system.

Between any two persons’ genomes there are an average of three million differences or mutations. The implications for medicine are major. Only 5% or less of disease-related mutations are fully penetrant, i.e., guaranteeing a disease when inherited. For the remaining 95%, other genes, lifestyle, and environmental influences also determine disease risk.

The Emergence of Self-Directed Biology

The mind and emotions directly affect gene activity, and since the mind is the source of a person’s lifestyle and behavior, it directs one’s biological transformations. Self-awareness holds the key to this process of self-transformation. Consciousness is invisibly reaching into the biochemistry of every moment of life. In your body, as in every cell, regulation is holistic, self-generated, self-organizing, and self-directed in concert with consciousness.

Darwin didn’t know about epigenetics and “soft inheritance.” Otherwise, he may have written a very different treatise, in which evolution wouldn’t solely result from random gene mutations. Self-directed evolution is the emerging paradigm.

As emphasized in our recent book, Super Brain, we believe there is also a better approach to understanding the brain. Your neural networks are being reshaped with every thought, feeling word, and act. This process is intimately tied to genetic activity. Today you will casually perform some very mysterious actions: As an aware being you will imbue your desires with intention (“I’ll have the tuna salad”), direct your attention to specific objects and aspects of the world (“Just look at that sunset!”), and experience the shifting landscape of your inner world (“This movie is boring”) as you navigate the terrain of your mind.

However, no research has been able to define the scientific basis of these actions. There is no explanation for how the firing of action potentials in trillions of synapses made by billions of nerve cells actually produces an experience.

This is a perfect example of how the map isn’t the territory. The wiring of your brain is ever-changing, depending on your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and habits. Many millions of dollars are being spent on the connectome, a complete mapping of the brain. But this will not explain how genes and neural circuits work together to bring us consciousness.

Brain and genome maps must be aligned with the fullness of human experience, since what you think, say, and do today shapes your genetic future. Nothing less than the equivalent of a “consciousome project” will suffice to serve this loftiest of scientific endeavors.

Hunt 4 Truth

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." https://hunt4truth.wordpress.com/ Absolute Truth is whole, complete and perfect. Absolute Truth is just beyond words, mental concepts, and form; Non-being, yet in everything and yet beyond thought forms. Prayer and meditation fashion in our hearts further honesty, openness, and willingness and thus, we may glimpse guidance and truth to rightly think and act. Any glimpse of truth is not Absolute Truth. It may be sufficient until we renew our commitment to serve God. Life is thus best navigated during mindfulness of prayer and meditation by an inner peace. "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Romans 1:20
