Ah, Golden Rules

Since the time, many millennia ago when Moses went upon the mountain to talk to God. First God was in the form of the burning bush and later he gave Moses the two tablets of the ten commandments. Much of western society use the Ten Commandments as a measure for what is good behavior. From the first, when Moses descended the mountain, he found the people celebrating life in a manner which he know would not please Adonai. There are times human beings follow the commandments and times we have strayed very far from their guiding precepts.

There have been other rules given later in history that fill in the gaps between the original ten commandments. These were recorded by Hazrat Inayat Khan and brought out of India to the West.

Thank you for the bravery of every soldier. Thank you that they faced their fears.

I am a pacifist and I hate war, but I know that I owe the lives of many people to the

bravery of American soldiers.

Governments cause the crimes, governments reach out for oil, land, minerals.

But the courage of each soldier is what makes this country great.

Blessings to every fallen hero and heavenly hallelujahs for all who give of

themselves that we may be free!

Song of the Open Road

Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road,

Health, free, the world before me,

The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose.

Henceforth I ask not good-fortune, I myself am good-fortune,

Henceforth I whimper no more, postpone no more, need nothing, Done with indoor complaints, libraries, querulous criticisms,

Strong and content I travel the open road.

The earth, that is sufficient,
