Social laughter is correlated with
an elevated pain threshold
Laughter Produces Endorphins,
Study Finds:

Laughter.FlyingHigh
“Laughter is very weird stuff, actually,” Dr. Dunbar said. “That’s why we got interested in it.” The simple muscular exertions involved in producing the familiar ha, ha, ha, trigger an increase in endorphins. Laughter contributes to group bonding and may have been important in the evolution of highly social humans.
.

In five sets of studies in the laboratory and one field study at comedy performances, Dr. Dunbar and colleagues tested resistance to pain both before and after bouts of social laughter. See: Social laughter is correlated with an elevated pain threshold

I’m discovering wisdom from my friend Reigh that has been available in the best selling book of all time… here is a sample:

The Perfect Prescription2014

It is no exaggeration to say that humor is highly infectious-even more infectious than a cold. Actually, humor is not only infectious, it is contagious. The sound of a hearty roaring laughter automatically makes us smile even when we have no clue what the person might be laughing at. Laughter has a way of binding us together-sharing in each other’s happiness. Health-wise, laughter has physiological and psychological health outcomes. For example, it fortifies our immune system. It reduces stress levels and pain. It also decreases inter-personal and intra-personal conflict. Interventional scientific studies affirm the preventive and therapeutic properties of spontaneous laughter.

Laughter has been found to have positive effects on the following:

  • Blood Pressure: When a person has a hearty laugh, initially their blood pressure rises, but then it immediately falls to levels below normal, and levels off to normal levels.
  •  Hormones: Science claims that laughter is associated with…

Oh, my… let me count some reasons.

1) I’m happy and content in a good way.

2) People like me when I am positive (and they don’t like me as much when I’m a crank).     That’s essential — I need to be liked.

3) I’m more comfortable and at ease and therefore more peaceful.

4) I’m more helpful and useful and appreciative of others — its nice to enjoy others. and 5) My friends and family are more likeable too.

6) I feel stronger and healthy.

7) There seem to be more options and alternatives and things to do.

8) I’m not worried. I’m not obsessing about ANYTHING.

9) I eat better and I take better care of myself.

10) There are dozens of other reasons — and there are more reasons as I’m more grateful.

Most importantly — Love — love is essential and I’m deeply (ever more) aware of love.

What about you?

Thanks for your visit,
God Bless

Hunt 4 Truth

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." https://hunt4truth.wordpress.com/ Absolute Truth is whole, complete and perfect. Absolute Truth is just beyond words, mental concepts, and form; Non-being, yet in everything and yet beyond thought forms. Prayer and meditation fashion in our hearts further honesty, openness, and willingness and thus, we may glimpse guidance and truth to rightly think and act. Any glimpse of truth is not Absolute Truth. It may be sufficient until we renew our commitment to serve God. Life is thus best navigated during mindfulness of prayer and meditation by an inner peace. "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Romans 1:20
