There’s no notion of sin, there’s no notion of good and evil, there’s only ignorance and suffering. And this is the most important thing, it places all emphasis on compassion; you do not embrace negativity. Buddhism asks the fundamental question: What is life and what is the point of existence?
With all this wonderful information maybe more people will try to meditate.
I used to meditate often but then I got the dread tinnitus.. I can honestly say to have it as I do, does not allow you to meditate.. It is so sad and such a cruel affliction… eve
Eve, my husband suffers with tinnitus too. I’ve encouraged him to try meditating thinking it might help somehow force the noise away, but maybe not. You are so right, it is a cruel affliction.
Thank you for this and recent comments Eve. Your visits are always appreciated. I have a friend that has tinnitus and he says it makes him crazy. In his case it is much stronger in one ear. In his experience, meditation makes it possible for him to focus on his quiet side and this lessens the noise for him.
I will pray that tinnitus and the virus that you mentioned in another comment will be lessened and that you may know peace and joy free of these afflictions.
Love and prayers; hugs and peace…
