Einstein

Albert Einstein had a powerful internal motivation to explain how the universe and the quantum particles of our physical objects form. He wasn’t able to put this into mathematical expression. However, his contributions still amaze us. This post came together because although I didn’t want to take much time at first with it — when I received a comment and more interest than I’d expected, I decided to put more work into it. I do things like this sometimes with posts… it isn’t word-pressing of the normal sort but these articles really are mostly for me and those closest to me — I share here for reasons additional to public blogging.

I think (speculate) that Einstein “knew” that equations that he presented were from a greater consciousness than he alone; the inside workings of his fascination with reality that this inner vision, uniquely his to share, was from the source of his nature, to become a science for all of us in our shared reality. Perception then was as important to him as it is becoming in this modern age of exploring an inner shift and a great awakening. What sense we have in three dimensional reality is as difficult for us to understand as was a grand-unified theory for Einstein to explain.

I believe we are to pick up where Einstein left of — us all, together, coming to agreement that the outer reality is a mirror of sorts that, established here, in space-time as in a sense limiting us to the outer five senses while internally we have perhaps many softer, greater sixth senses.

I do my best to advance my own progress with these posts, while at the same time, making progress to advance understanding of our space-time universe. So, here I keep coming back to my initial inspirations with Einstein. While he is not the only scientist that I admire as deeply, his work is where I can be safely with this challenge to balance my inner knowing to what we perceive in our shared universe.

1905 was Albert Einstein’s year. While working as a patent clerk in Bern, Switzerland, Einstein submitted a supplement to his special theory of relativity of earlier that year. In it he derived the most famous equation of all time; E=MC²; energy is equal to mass multiplied by the speed of light squared.

The equation showed that mass and energy were related and that one could, in theory, be transformed into the other. But because the speed of light squared is such a huge number, it meant that even a small amount of mass could potentially be converted into a huge amount of energy.

Einstein – Birth Of God’s Equation (E=MC²)

.

Beginning in early disillusionment with religion, and developing an intense fascination with geometry, Einstein’s “theory of knowledge” moved him past the foundations of Newtonian physics to a development of his own theories of relativity, and later to opposition of some assumptions of quantum theory.

Einstein’s great original contribution to quantum theory (1905) was just the recognition of how physical phenomena like the photo-effect may depend directly on individual quantum effects. He demonstrated step-by-step the conclusion that any radiation process involves the emission or absorption of individual light quanta or “photons” with energy and momentum (it was of great interest for me to review how human vision works).

E = hf and P = hs

h is Planck’s constant, while f and s are the number of vibrations per unit time and the number of waves per unit length

.

In 1909, Albert Einstein became associate professor of theoretical physics at Zurich, in 1911 professor of theoretical physics at the German University in Prague and then returned to the Institute of Technology in Zurich the following year. In 1914, he was appointed director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Physics in Berlin. He became a German citizen in the same year. In 1916 he published his theory of general relativity.

“When I was a fairly precocious young man I became thoroughly impressed with the futility of hopes and striving that chase most men restlessly through life. Moreover, I soon discovered the cruelty of that chase, which in those years was much more carefully covered up by hypocrisy and glittering words than is the case today. . . . As the first way out there was religion, which is implanted into every child by way of the traditional education machine. Thus I came, though the child of entirely irreligious (Jewish) parents, to a deep religiousness, which, however, reached an abrupt end at the age of twelve.”

Albert Einstein built up his theory of gravity, general relativity, through a series of ‘thought experiments’ and mathematical proofs. In 1915 he showed that gravity is caused by objects with mass such as planets and stars warping space-time. For example, the Earth is caught in the curve in space-time caused by the Sun, and the Moon is caught in a warp created by the Earth.

Similarly light is bent when it passes massive objects like galaxies (it was of great interest for me to review how our human brain works to assemble an inner awareness of the outer physical universe that we can perceive by this both to limit our perceptions and also allow altering these internally — thus the benefits of changing how I perceive reality by seeking internally the humility of staying with my inner sense of confusions and upsets became essential to me).

General relativity

Einstein’s theory has important astrophysical implications. For example, it implies the existence of black holes—regions of space in which space and time are distorted in such a way that nothing, not even light, can escape—as an end-state for massive stars.

There is ample evidence that the intense radiation emitted by certain kinds of astronomical objects is due to black holes; for example, micro-quasars and active galactic nuclei result from the presence of stellar black holes and black holes of a much more massive type, respectively.

The bending of light by gravity can lead to the phenomenon of gravitational lensing, in which multiple images of the same distant astronomical object are visible in the sky.

General relativity also predicts the existence of gravitational waves, which have since been observed indirectly; a direct measurement is the aim of projects such as LIGO and NASA/ESA Laser Interferometer Space Antenna and various pulsar timing arrays. In addition, general relativity is the basis of current cosmological models of a consistently expanding universe.

Einstein received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect and his work in the field of theoretical physics.

Time Since Einstein

Albert Einstein shattered previous ideas about time, but left many pivotal questions unanswered: Does time have a beginning? An end? Why does it move in only one direction? Is it real, or something our minds impose on reality? Journalist John Hockenberry leads a distinguished panel, including renowned physicist Sir Roger Penrose and prominent philosopher David Albert, as they explore the nature of time.

A geometric solution for gravity – new physics spinning

The structure of space-time is quantized. In other words, space itself is made of discreet super tiny tiny tiny packets of energy: the smallest little vibration that the electromagnetic spectrum creates. These tiny packets are what you could think of as the “pixels” that make up the universe: the smallest quanta of energy.

First discovered by Max Planck, the smallest distance you can possibly measure is the length of this universal fundamental wave-from called the Planck length:

0.0000000000000000000000000000000001616cm

(10 to the -33cm)

It is nearly impossible to visualize how small the Planck is. However if you picture a little dot that is .1mm (or about the smallest thing the unaided human eye can see) and blew up that little dot like a balloon to the size of the observable universe, the Planck would then be about a .1mm dot in that universe. Or in other words, that original .1mm dot is about 1/2 way in scale between the size of the observable universe and the Plank!

Nassim Haramein calls these tiny packets Planck Spherical Units (PSU) because they are spherical, like most other structures the universe creates at all scales. These spherical waveforms overlap and perfectly pack together to form the very structure of space itself.

Using these universal voxels (spherical pixels), Nassim calculates how many of them fit on the inside of a proton volume compared to how many are present on the outside surface area of the proton (or any black hole). This ratio, a geometric relationship, is the gravitational field!

Gravity is essentially a ratio of information on the inside to information on the surface.

Nassim has discovered a discreet, quantized, voxelated way of describing gravity in which all you need to do is essentially count these little Planck Spherical Units without having to use highly complex tensor equations normally needed to solve Albert Einstein‘s field equations.

A geometric solution for gravity.

The irony of it all is that this solution has been right under our noses this whole time thanks to many ancient cultures encoding this geometric relationship right into their monuments and documents: The Flower of Life!

Actually – this is new in that our awareness is arising with greater interest… the mathematics is so complex – but most of the complexity is because physics misses the simple observational intuitive contemplation that is the basis for scientific inquiry… we ought not try to create a complex reality when our purpose is to be in alignment with what is – observe, contemplate – let it sink in and feel it … its mindful goodness … we are channels for creativity – not masters of our realm … see also: The Spin On The Black Whole – Science and Spirituality You Tube

I contemplate my inner self – similar to the illustration, being inside and being there an inside of inside and inside of that and on and on and spinning like a kids ride – it’s a trip on being more of everything that is and less about thought. Idle thought isn’t much as real as it may have seemed before this. Special thanks to Eve – my friend Eve got me wondering about this “new” physics a few months back – little do I know and still there is so much fun to be discovered … so nice!

The Pyramid Code is a documentary series of 5 episodes that explores the pyramid fields and ancient temples in Egypt as well as ancient megalithic sites around the world looking for clues to matriarchal consciousness, ancient knowledge and sophisticated technology in a Golden Age.

The series is based on the extensive research done in 23 trips to Egypt and 50 other countries around the world by Dr. Carmen Boulter in the Graduate Division of Educational Research at the University of Calgary.

The Pyramid Code features interviews with prominent scholars and authors in multidisciplinary fields: geology, physics, astrophysics, archaeology, biological engineering, magnetic field theory, hieroglyphics, and Egyptology.

The series explores penetrating questions: Who were the ancients and what did they know? Could the pyramids be much older than traditional Egyptology would have us believe? Could it be that the ancients were more technologically advanced than we are today? Why do we have so little understanding of the ancient Egyptians?

Are there still secrets hidden in plain sight? Do new discoveries force the issue of establishing a new chronology? Are there little known sites that provide clues to a new understanding of our distant past? Are we really the most advanced civilization to ever live on Earth?

Episode 1: The Band of Peace
This episode raises questions about the purpose of the pyramids challenging the story traditional Egyptology tells. See rare footage of 6 distinct pyramid sites near the Great Pyramid with evidence of superior technology and sophisticated knowledge of science and the cosmos.

Episode 2: High Level Technology
In this episode, evidence that the ancient Egyptians used high level technology to construct pyramids and temples is shown. Scientists discuss the source of this power and its applications in the ancient world. Our science is just beginning to grasp what the ancients clearly understood long ago.

Episode 3: Sacred Cosmology
Deciphering the meaning of strange symbols in Egyptian art gives insight into the ancient’s knowledge of sacred cosmology. A new way of interpreting hieroglyphics is presented indication the ancients had sophisticated understanding of physics, biology, and celestial mechanics. A team goes on an expedition into the open desert in search of a remote site of extreme antiquity called Nabta Playa. Here, neolithic stone circles were found marking the motion of the same stars as were tracked in pharonic civilization. The possible connection is discussed.

Episode 4: The Empowered Human
This episode proposes that the pyramid builders were living in a Golden Age, they had more refined senses, experienced higher levels of consciousness which gave them superior abilities than we have today. The sacred feminine was honored and existed in balance with the sacred masculine.

Episode 5: A New Chronology
After examining the evidence presented in the series, it seems clear that the dates given by traditional Egyptology do not fit. Carefully considering cycles of time through the Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Iron Ages of Plato’s Great Year, a new chronology is emerging that illumines ancient Egypt.

Einstein’s Big Idea

Over 100 years ago, Albert Einstein grappled with the implications of his revolutionary special theory of relativity and came to a startling conclusion: mass and energy are one, related by the formula E=MC². In “Einstein’s Big Idea,” NOVA dramatizes the remarkable story behind this equation. E=MC² was just one of several extraordinary breakthroughs that Einstein made in 1905, including the completion of his special theory of relativity, his identification of proof that atoms exist, and his explanation of the nature of light, which would win him the Nobel Prize in Physics. Among Einstein’s ideas, E=MC² is by far the most famous. Yet how many people know what it really means? In a thought-provoking and engrossing docudrama, NOVA illuminates this deceptively simple formula by unraveling the story of how it came to be.

Scientist debunks Hawking’s ‘no God needed’ theory

.

Famed mathematical physicist Sir Roger Penrose, who worked alongside Stephen Hawking for many years on furthering the developing Big Bang theory, has debunked Hawking’s ‘no-God-needed’ theory of the universe as “hardly science” and “not even a theory” on Premier Christian Radio.

Scientist debunks Hawking's 'no God needed' theory | Sir Roger PenroseSpeaking on the station’s weekly faith debate program Unbelievable? on Saturday 25 September, Penrose described Hawking’s new book The Grand Design as “misleading” adding that M-theory, which Hawking claims has made God redundant as a cause of the universe, was “not even a theory” and “hardly science” but instead “a collection of hopes, ideas and aspirations.”

Penrose was in dialogue on the program with Alister McGrath, professor of theology at Kings College London.  The two men joined host Justin Brierley to respond to the question of whether Hawking’s new theory had made God redundant as a potential explanation of the origin of the universe.

Criticizing M-theory, Penrose said: “It’s a collection of ideas, hopes, aspirations. The book is a bit misleading.  It gives you this impression of a theory that is going to explain everything; it’s nothing of the sort.  It’s not even a theory.”

Our Universe has not been shown to “create itself from nothing.”

.

.

Asked whether science shows that the universe could “create itself from nothing” as claimed in the book, Penrose was strong in his condemnation of the ‘string’ theory that lies behind Hawking’s statement: “It’s certainly not doing it yet. I think the book suffers rather more strongly than many.  It’s not an uncommon thing in popular descriptions of science to latch onto an idea, particularly things to do with string theory, which have absolutely no support from observation.  They are just nice ideas.”  He added that such ideas are “very far from any testability.  They are hardly science.”

As a former colleague who worked closely alongside Hawking in developing gravitational singularity theorems, Penrose is perhaps the most high profile scientist yet to dismiss Hawking’s views.

“Multi-verse” has not superseded God

He also responded to the so-called “multi-verse” hypothesis that Hawking’s theory also posits.  Christians, including Professor McGrath, have pointed towards the fact that our universe is incredibly “fine-tuned” for life to come into existence, thus providing evidence of a transcendent designer.  Hawking’s “multi-verse” hypothesis is a form of the ‘anthropic principle’: since ours is one in an array of universes, we inevitably only observe a universe with the correct ‘settings’ that support conscious life.

CLICK HERE to explore a distant place with the Universe Expansion Cosmic Distance LadderResponding to the ‘multi-verse’ hypothesis, Penrose, a Distinguished Supporter of the British Humanist Association who describes himself as having “no religious beliefs,” said:  “Its overused, and this is a place where its overused. It’s an excuse for not having a good theory.” [These ideas are not supportive of ‘no God is needed’ ideas either — although sometimes put forth in such a manner as to shed doubt on the God idea.]

Premier presenter Justin Brierley said: “What’s interesting is that Penrose’s criticisms of Hawking are not driven by any faith position.  Instead he simply recognizes that the science does not justify making statements about God’s non-existence, which is a much more honest position than other well-known scientists, such as Dawkins, who want to equate science with atheism.”

Penrose’s own alternative view of the universe is detailed in his new book “Cycles of Time” published by The Bodley Head. As for myself, I am convinced that matter is connected together — every single subatomic particle of it — with its source — by a directedness energy that the source is — some call it love; I do.

The Big Bang Theory

.

Creation began perhaps 14 billion years ago. Most scientist believe that it was caused by an explosion or expansion of a condensed kernel of energy as it has been called; a condensed particle of sub-atomic substance that somehow managed to become the entire universe even though it was smaller than an atom. Actually, there is some evidence that originates from the premise of the Big Bang (Theory). The useful Big Bang evidence is based on red-shift evidence of light that the universe is expanding — evidence that is 13.7 or more billions of years old. The red-shift of light that we see indicates that light is speeding away from the center of the universe. In other words, space between objects giving off light is increasing. Okay for the speeding part by me… on average light travel is nearly 300 million kilometers per second (671,000,000 mph)… very speedy, indeed. Even galaxies are traveling very rapidly — roughly 400 kilometers per second (900,000 mph).

Mathematically, the density of matter (a singularity its called) at the heart of a black hole is infinitely massive in infinity-no-space… okay, here is where physics is bonkers and why I say the big bang is a theory as silly as the TV show. There is no way that every particle of matter can fit into nothing… nah. Even the mathematicians roll their eyes… physicists do as well. Its cr-Azy. Matter in source is not mater then. This means nothing to us in the universe but matter did not come from nothing. That is absurd as well to believe.

The light and speeds are observable and even though physics has problems with measuring positions and speeds at the same time, there is physical evidence that supports the mathematics. There are problems there too though.

I’m betting that ancient wisdom eventually prevails…
there are so many articles, but here is one you probably

black_hole_wallpaper_5-normal.

You fell into a black hole…
oh, my, that’s not so good…
here is Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson to explain:

.

.

.

Program Description
Our Milky Way may harbor millions of black holes… the ultra dense remnants of dead stars. But now, in the universe far beyond our galaxy, there’s evidence of something far more ominous. A breed of black holes that has reached incomprehensible size and destructive power. Just how large, and violent, and strange can they get?

A new era in astronomy has revealed a universe long hidden to us. High-tech instruments sent into space have been tuned to sense high-energy forms of light — x-rays and gamma rays — that are invisible to our eyes and do not penetrate our atmosphere. On the ground, precision telescopes are equipped with technologies that allow them to cancel out the blurring effects of the atmosphere. They are peering into the far reaches of the universe, and into distant caldrons of light and energy. In some distant galaxies, astronomers are now finding evidence that space and time are being shattered by eruptions so vast they boggle the mind.

We are just beginning to understand the impact these outbursts have had on the universe: On the shapes of galaxies, the spread of elements that make up stars and planets, and ultimately the very existence of Earth. The discovery of what causes these eruptions has led to a new understanding of cosmic history. Back in 1995, the Hubble space telescope was enlisted to begin filling in the details of that history. Astronomers selected tiny regions in the sky, between the stars. For days at a time, they focused Hubble’s gaze on remote regions of the universe.

These Hubble Deep Field images offered incredibly clear views of the cosmos in its infancy. What drew astronomers’ attention were the tiniest galaxies, covering only a few pixels on Hubble’s detector. Most of them do not have the grand spiral or elliptical shapes of large galaxies we see close to us today.

Instead, they are irregular, scrappy collections of stars. The Hubble Deep Field confirmed a long-standing idea that the universe must have evolved in a series of building blocks, with small galaxies gradually merging and assembling into larger ones.

I love science. However, I do believe that science is meant to partner with (hold hands with) faith and the two ought, in my opinion, be like dear friends. Science once was working in harmony with the faithful — however, we know that the Church many times suppressed scientific findings and there were and continue to be numerous conflicts between religious and scientists. Its wrongful use of authority in the churches to suppress real science.

I think its wrong for religion and science to be popping off against one or the other. What I have to say isn’t to violate science.

Real science is good work making our lives more healthy and making our world a better and safer place to live. We need more responsible science… not less.

I want to take exception with marketing practices of scientism (not science).

Famed theoretical physicist and cosmologist, Stephen Hawking, was trending after he dismissed the idea of Heaven as “a fairy story.” In an interview with The Guardian, Hawking said, “There is no heaven or afterlife … that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.”

He has been under fire from religious circles before, most recently after his book, The Grand Design argued that god did not create the universe and that The Big Bang was a natural event that created everything from nothing. That didn’t irk me. It made no real difference to me. Most Christians and religious ignored that it can’t be correct. We’ve heard this sort of thing before… its no biggie.

The thing that irks me is his blatant brashness is getting him in the news. His brash ‘fairy story’ statements are being run as news from a scientist; as if we ought therefore fall away from our beliefs.

see also:
Scientist debunks
Hawking’s
‘no God needed’
theory

He made this up and its making it into science news pages! Wow!

The other thing I didn’t find is that his motive isn’t just to sell his books and gain publicity for his shows and for lasting fame. I found all that. What I didn’t find is that this is an effort to put an end to scientific investigating, by real scientists, of the actual rightful scientific origin of our universe and of our own human lives. Hawking is doing what before his brashness was called using pseudo-science. His recent announcements of theories are not science.

This is what he’s up too… misuse of his power and position… and if I am the first to say so, I surely won’t be the last.

Hawking is misusing his position to misrepresent a few scientific findings with a mix of non-scientific mumbo-jumbo and its to promote his atheist books and papers and his influence with youthful scientist. He’s hiding a mountain size lack of evidence with his scant science and he’s proclaiming there isn’t a creator — saying exactly what science cannot prove as though it were proven.

Since Hawking reduces science to scientism (reductionist materialism), it isn’t a surprise that he began stating his findings with brash unscientific statements.

He is now more famous for criticism of religious beliefs than for his early work as an excellent scientist. He’s reducing himself as a charlatan (impostor, fake, pretender, or swindler); lowering himself like a snake oil remedy salesman proclaims he has the cure for every ailment.

Hawking is practicing scientism,
as much as science. Its wrongful.

What is the most astounding scientific fact about the Universe — of all time?

Program Description
Astrophysicist Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson is asked by a reader of TIME magazine, “What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the Universe?” This was his answer. NOTE: I typed the transcript at the end of this post.

.

The Globe still spins no matter what we think caused it.

I posted several articles previously that highlight some tremendous accomplishments by Albert Einstein (listed below). This one is about dreams that Albert Einstein could not transform into a unifying theory for reality — evidence strongly indicates this was his greatest desire.

His work and the stimulation that he applied in vigorous debates and with encouragements for his colleagues did however make the pain tolerable.

First, lets review his momentum.

In 1905, Einstein published exceptional papers that proposed the existence of the photon as an elementary particle associated with electromagnetic radiation (light), detailed photoelectric effect, demonstrated the existence of atoms, wrote an introduction to special relativity, and published the paper that led to the famous E=MC² equation that defines matter as condensed energy. He continued work and in 1907, he developed the first quantum theory of specific heats and from 1907 to 1915, Einstein developed the theory of general relativity.CLICK HERE to explore a distant place with the universe expansion cosmic distance ladder

The Danish physicist, Niels Bohr provided in 1913 a quantum idea to explain the actions of electrons inside atoms. Einstein recognized that a quantum theory may be used to explain the characteristic light as emitted by atoms and that a great discovery had been made. He referred to Bohr’s work as “the highest form of musicality in the sphere of thought.”

In 1915, Einstein introduced the General Theory of Relativity. According to this revolutionary theory space and time are not Absolute. Space-time is not a fixed background for events. Instead, dynamic quantities of matter and energy form matter in ways that are unclear to this day. Einstein’s finding proves that space-time are defined within the universe — only. Further, his findings also prove matter is highly concentrated energy.

Matter is actually energy condensed to a slow vibration. Watch this:

Program Description
With his famous equation E=MC², Albert Einstein proved that when you come right down to it everything in the universe is energy. Both in the physical plane of our reality of matter and the abstract reality of our mind are made up of energy patterns.

The concept of a universal energy flow is not a new one. The ancient Chinese called this flow chi; the ancient Hindus called it prana. The disciplines that developed in those two cultures – t’ai chi and yoga, respectively- are based on the art of tuning in to the flow of energy and using it to centre the self.

Particle physicists try to understand the nature of nature at the smallest scales possible. Today, we know that atoms do not represent the smallest unit of matter. Particles called quarks and leptons seem to be the fundamental building blocks – but perhaps there is something even smaller.

Empty space, we have discovered, is actually not empty at all.

Astrophysicists have found that less than 10 percent of the mass of the entire universe consists of the kind of “luminous” matter that we can see. What is the dark matter that makes up the rest of the universe? How can we find out? Though we understand many important properties of the fundamental building blocks of our universe, there are untold mysteries still to solve.

Advances in technology allow physicists to build more powerful and sophisticated instruments to look deeper and deeper inside matter. Like adventurers entering unknown territory, physicists forge ahead into ever smaller dimensions.

What will be their next discovery?

Spoken by Deepak Chopra

.

It took many years to finish and then prove general relativity. Indeed however, the effort paid off. The GPS on your phone couldn’t work without General Relativity. He made discovery possible for the mathematics of using redshifts (traces of movements) of distant galaxies to discover how the universe is expanding. General Relativity includes Einstein’s 10 field equations (EFE) that aided Monseigneur Georges Lemaître‘s proposal of what’s known as the Big Bang theory and also for predictions for the existence of black holes. Without his equations there would not be gravitational lensing that is presently being used to do research as to how dark matter may influence the universe. Other areas such a nuclear power and discovery of massive objects that distort space-time such as neutron stars that have too little luminosity also are managed because of Einstein’s General Relativity mathematics.

As Einstein was becoming aware of what was a new atomic theory, by 1915 having the Bohr (quantum) model of the atom, he understood that energy levels of electrons are predictably discrete and that electrons revolve in orbits around an atomic nucleus but that the electron can jump from one energy level (or orbit) to another. So, by 1916 Einstein devised a vastly improved fundamental statistical theory of heat that proved itself based on the quantum of energy. His theory predicted that as light passed through a substance it could stimulate the emission of more light. This effect is at the heart of the modern laser.

Einstein’s studies revealed the possibility of making a powerful light amplifier.

Modern lasers have thousands of practical applications based on this. Lasers are great aids in research as scientists explore theories and work further to discover the nature of our universe.

Einstein Bohr debatesBy 1925 a quantum theory of physics emerged by the collective creation of a generation of theoretical physicists from many nations. Scientists were collaborating and debating how to interpret the mechanics of quantum atoms. They already sensed the vast importance of the work they were doing.

Einstein took an active role in these discussions. Heisenberg, Bohr, and other creators of the theory insisted that the new theory provided for no meaningful way to discuss certain details of an atom’s behavior. For example, one could never predict the precise moment when an atom would emit a quantum of light. Einstein could not accept this lack of certainty; and he raised one objection after another. At the Solvay Conferences of 1927 and 1930 the debate between Bohr and Einstein went on day and night, neither man conceding defeat. Momentum slowed. Herein is the basis for the title.

.

Solvay Congress of 1927

Einstein was there at the 1927 conference of physics. So was Bohr and many other famous scientists. Said Einstein, “Quantum mechanics is certainly imposing. But an inner voice tells me that it is not yet the real thing. The theory says a lot, but does not really bring us closer to the secret of the ‘Old One.’ I, at any rate, am convinced that He is not playing at dice.”

However, by the mid 1930s, Einstein accepted quantum mechanics as a consistent theory for understanding behavior of atoms. He recognized that it was “the most successful physical theory of our time.” However, Einstein could not accept quantum mechanics as a completed theory since its mathematics did not describe individual events. He hoped his own general theory of relativity would benefit by his investigations of quantum mechanics.

The search for a unified theory would occupy much of the rest of his life. However, the unified theory still eludes scientist to this day. Yet, much has been our benefit as the science of the early 1900s is still generating stimulating interests, technology and scientific milestones.

What is the most astounding scientific
fact about the Universe — of all time?

video transcript:

“The most astounding fact… the most astounding fact is the knowledge; that the atoms comprise life on earth; the atoms that make up the human body, are traceable to the crucibles, that cooked light elements into heavy elements in their core, under extreme temperatures and pressures.

These stars, the high mass ones among them, went unstable in their later years. They collapsed and then exploded, scattering their enriched guts, across the galaxy.

CLICK HERE to explore a distant place with the universe expansion cosmic distance ladderGuts made of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and all the fundamental ingredients of life itself. These ingredients become part of gas clouds, that condense, collapse, form the next generation of solar systems – stars with orbiting planets and those planets now have ingredients for life itself.

So that when I look up at the night sky, and I know that yes, we are part of this universe, we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the universe is in us.

When I reflect on that fact, I look up – many people feel small, because they’re small and the universe is big, but I feel big; because my atoms, came from those stars.

There is a level of connectivity.

That’s really what you want in life, you want to feel connected, you want to feel relevant. You want to feel like your a participant in the goings on of activities and events around you. That’s precisely what we are, just by being alive.”

I hope you have 25 minutes.

Sherman, science makes the world safer and more comfortable..

The two video programs that I’ve selected are simplified of course, but I think that most of you will be satisfied with these as an introduction to how physics fails to fully describe how our universe is constructed.

You’ll see how physics is working toward proof of how the universe works — but that at least two problems prevent this. You may remember from my last article (Religion vs. Science) that physics appears in the science column. So, physics seeks scientific solutions that hold up under intense scrutiny and peer (scientific) review.

Science seeks finite solutions. My first video presentation demonstrates that “infinite sequences of infinities” is a huge physics problem. In a physics theory of everything, mathematical sequences of infinities amount to scientific nonsense (failure). However, we see here, in my updated video selection, infinity is necessary.

Watch this:

  Science failure! (11 minutes):

With the problem of the infinities holding up a physics of everything, some philosophers began to weigh in, looking into new methods to describe how the universe works. One of them was Michael Talbot. His approach to how the universe works was surprising. According to Talbot, “We are not born into the world. We are born into something that we make into the world.”

Nearly twenty-five years later, his book, “The Holographic Universe” is still astounding and baffling. Unfortunately Talbot died in 1992, shortly after his book release. Other work is more recent. Lynne McTaggart is author of “The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe” and “The Bond: How to Fix Your Falling-Down World” where McTaggart explains her view: “What matters is not the isolated entity, but the space between things, the relationship of things.“ Bullwinkle likes mystical stuff -- not me. I like emperical evidence. These three books (classified as New Age) are good reading even for non-science folk with some curious interest in physics and philosophy.

The second video begins with the Big Bang that is supposed to be the source of our universe. However, the second approach is radically different from the first. This, it turns out, is because of another scientific problem.

We’ll see what happens when new physics addresses what is known as “the measurement problem.”

Here, strange subatomic properties become important; these mysterious forces of invisibility influence particles that may occur in an observation when science attempts to measure them in place differently than laws predict their true nature to be in unobserved states. In this second video, theory concludes that collective observations “make sense” of our universe in the midst of nonsense but that all of the other possibilities still may be. In theory, the act of observation creates a possible reality from among all possible realities.

Watch this:

  Philosophical fix? (10 minutes):

These thugs aren't scientists and they certainly aren't Christians. They are here though, so, learn to live with them. Maybe we can get them to become civilized. I don't think so - but maybe. They have a lot of changes to prove before I'll trust them. What may be proved? Well, I’m not being fair if I sum it up as science fiction, but that is how some Christians view the current progress of physics.

To be fair, what we have is more than 100 years of advance work in physics and philosophy; exciting and tedious work. I value people that put in tedious work to prove their ideas. Lets not forget that we are reviewing work that originates from altruistic and honorable men and women that worked hard for the advance of science for our benefit. It seems though that science is unable to complete the work; to put theories into a complete proof of how our universe is constructed. Yet, according to some blogs here, the contrary is the case. Apparently they are wrong. Maybe they are referring to theoretical physics? I don’t know.

So far, we’ve seen that physics cannot explain our universe to scientific satisfaction. How reality is constructed is still a mystery.

Science cannot explain gravity beyond the basics of orbits and the motion of stars and planets. Physics breaks down into nonsense as scientists attempt to put together a theory of everything that includes black holes and subatomic particles. We’ve seen that mathematical solutions led to an “infinite sequence of infinities” (failure).

Next, science tackled the quandary known as “the measurement problem” and again bafflement occurs. We’ve just discovered that science cannot completely describe how physical objects work at a subatomic level. The second video provides the reasons and explores a philosophical fix. The discovery that observation causes elementary particles not to maintain the same state as occur before observation is of course absurd science (a failure for now).

Finally, as yet, physics cannot complete a theory of how gravity works and time/space seems still to be problematic and there actually are other problems that physics must confront including dark matter and additional time/space dimensions (more time/space stuff) and the complete description of how a black hole is constructed.

I read the first cohesive and widely touted book about how the holographic universe is perceived back in 1991. It was hot off the presses. It was appropriately titled “The Holographic Universe” and was written by Michael Talbot.

I was impressed. I loved it. How exciting I thought, “reality is constructed of no physical substance.” My thinking wasn’t entirely accurate, but the book amazed me and it got me thinking outside of the boxes. Thinking about a Holographic Universe isn’t very useful for us though if we’d like to know where we stand in the universe. Still, it was strange and exciting and I became open to learning more.

There is an awful lot to learn in this world. One day, I came about to see it as a science nightmare too. After some thought, I recognized this is exactly where science stands with regards to describing the workings of our universe. Science cannot describe how the universe is physically constructed. As we review what is known, it turns out that observations of subatomic particles that are the basis for reality are skewing the math. Maybe I even have this backwards (in fact I think it is). We can’t learn the deepest secrets about the universe just yet from physics. I was mildly disappointed. I truly believe that mysteries are mostly unnecessary. So, I investigated my religious thinking just as much.

Now, for religious, lets look at the facts again. Science can’t disprove God is real. Additionally, physics can’t completely prove that the physical world even is physical. Lets not throw out biology, chemistry and medicine or geology and earth science. But what of physics? I’m just not feeling that Christians can be trusting of physics. So far, its let us down. All bets about science coming to the rescue to assist us in our efforts to unite with God are off just now.

[IMG]For many Christians, that is our only reason for embracing a science of physics. Most devout Christians don’t need a science that describes the universe accurately. We have sources that we trust from what we value as the highest authority. We know that God is. We know that we are fallen from His presence. We know that God provided for us to unite with Him. Still, Christians ought not throw the baby out with the bath water. Physics is a useful science and it contributes to our earthly comforts and physical well being (although physics may also be used against us by terrorists/enemies).

I want to keep this short enough to not deter readers — so, I’ll explore how science needs religions in a later post. The connection is real enough and we’ve seen this too — every particle that came into our material universe is from an energy source that links every particle to every other particle that ever was or ever will be. Particles are real enough. So is the connection that instantly makes information available even across all of infinity.

Reality is so cool. I do hope that some of you may post your thoughts about my article and where you stand in relationship to the universe. What reconciles you with reality?

Make a comment please. Rocky and Bullwinkle are childhood heroes! Yay! The good guys always win.

Can science prove anything about our physical universe?  Can we trust “laws” regarding the physics of our universe as reliable? I still subscribe to news from the studies of physics. It fascinates me. Does physics and how the universe works fascinate you?

NOTE:  This isn’t a scientist blog.  I’m just a guy thinking about the universe.  If you have any thoughts about it, please,  share what you think. Just, be nice. Thanks!

Earliest Galaxy Ever Detected
Infant Universe More Active Than Thought?

Nov. 1, 2013 — In a major new survey of the early universe conducted from the NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, University of Massachusetts Amherst astronomer Mauro Giavalisco and colleagues at several other institutions identify the most distant, thus the earliest galaxy ever detected.EarliestGalaxy

The surprise finding of a young galaxy from a survey that was not designed to find such bright early galaxies suggests that the infant universe may harbor a larger number of intense star-forming galaxies than astronomers believed possible.

This study moves science closer to answering a long-standing mystery about how cosmic re-ionization proceeds. If the theory of the Big Bang is correct, we must see the recombination of the ionized plasma into a neutral gas, or re-ionization.”

.

Can sound waves travel faster than the speed of light?

Yes, says Joel Mobley, a physicist at the University of Mississippi in the US. In simulations, Mobley demonstrates that ultrasound pulses could move at “superluminal” speeds (at the speed of light or exceeding that) when transmitted through water that contains thousands of tiny plastic beads.

Mobley calculated that the “group velocity” of a pulse of high-frequency sound waves could be increased by five orders of magnitude by sending it through a small chamber that contains about 8 milliliters of water and some 400,000 tiny plastic spheres. This means that the group velocity would exceed the speed of light in a vacuum. The spheres have diameters of about 0.1 mm and account for about 5% of the volume of the water-bead mixture.

The increase in speed is caused by dispersion — the phenomenon that causes different wavelengths to move at different phase velocities. When the pulse enters the mixture it experiences severe dispersion, which causes the different wavelengths to travel at very different speeds. This changes the shape of the pulse and can result in the pulse itself moving faster than the speed of light. However, the dispersion also significantly reduces the intensity of the pulses.

In a physics report posted at http://phys.org/news88249076.html, William Robertson’s team from Middle Tennessee State University also showed that the group velocity of sound waves can become infinite, and even negative. However, “no wave energy exceeded the speed of light,” said Robertson. Essentially, the pulse that made it through the filter at faster than light was an exact (but smaller) replica of the input pulse.Einstein.s

Gravity and space-time travel remember is what general relativity defines of most interest to Einstein’s statements about the speed of light. Is it possible that something may exceed the speed of light? Well, I’m not going to answer that yet. However, for now, I’ll say as far as I know, light speed is a cosmic speed limit. However, there may perhaps be methods in the works that will take normal space-time out of the experiment. Let’s keep thinking about this.

Program Description
The Elegant Universe, “The Edge of Knowledge,” The central problem of modern physics: the incompatibility of Einstein’s theory of general relativity with quantum mechanics. He then lists the physical curiosities — properties of the motion of light, gravity, and the behavior of particles at the subatomic level — that have prevented physicists from establishing a single coherent theory for how the universe works. At the end of this section, Greene describes both the objectives and the promise of superstring theory, which attempts to merge the laws of general relativity with those of quantum mechanics. Superstring theory depicts particles that are one hundred billion-billion (a quintillion) times smaller than a single atomic nucleus — not as dots but as tiny strings of energy. They vibrate in different patterns, which in turn produce different particle properties. But because these strings are too tiny to locate with current scientific tools, superstring theory is not yet predictable or testable.

Scientists trying to explain the universe’s accelerating expansion usually point to dark energy, which seems to be pushing everything apart. black_hole_wallpaper_5-normal But an Indiana University professor has a new theory, reports New Scientist: We’re inside a black hole that exists in another universe.

Specifically, a black hole that rebounded, somewhat like a spring.

Some fairly mind-blowing physics is involved here, but the gist is that Nikodem Poplawski of IU-Bloomington used a modified version of Einstein’s general relativity equation set that takes particle spin into account. Including this variable makes it possible to calculate torsion, part of the geometry of space-time. It also gets rid of the black hole singularity, a phenomenon that general relativity cannot explain.

In a study published earlier this year, Poplawski said “When the density of matter reaches epic proportions, torsion counters gravity. This prevents matter from compressing indefinitely to a singularity of infinite density. Instead, matter rebounds like a spring, and starts expanding again.”

In Poplawski’s latest study, his calculations show that space-time inside the black hole expands to about 1.4 times its smallest size in as little as 10-46 seconds — two orders of magnitude faster, for lack of a better word, than the Planck time. This brisk bounce-back could have been what led to the expanding universe that we see today.

But here’s the real kicker: as Poplawski says, “We may not be living in our universe at all; we might be living inside a rebounded black hole that exists in a different universe. We could tell by measuring the preferred direction of our universe. A spinning black hole would have imparted some spin to the space-time inside it, which would violate a law of symmetry that links space and time. This might explain why neutrinos oscillate between their antimatter and regular-matter states.”

jiggled — twisted warping and curved spacetime confirmed

gravity-probe-confirms-einstein-theories-space-time

Earth’s spin warps space around the planet. This was predicted according to Einstein; in the same way that a large ball placed on a elasticated cloth stretches the fabric and causes it to sag, so planets and stars warp space-time.

To illustrate the effect, just image a very large ball and a much smaller ball rolling across elasticated cloth. The smaller ball will begin to move towards the larger ball since the cloth gives way more in that direction. By Einstein’s reckoning gravity is not a force, as Sir Isaac Newton speculated, but it is a consequence of the distortion of space and time. Any object distorts space-time and the bigger it is, the greater the effect.

The planets of our solar system are orbiting the Sun because they travel like everything in the universe at a high speed away from the point of origin towards the edges of the known universe and because the sun puts a huge dent in space-time. They are not being pulled by the Sun. They are following their course in a curved space-time deformation that is caused by the Sun.

The reason the planets never fall into the Sun is due to the speed at which they travel.

Rotation of a body causes a twist in nearby space-time.

It’s a bit much for the brain. But imagine the balls to be spinning tops. The elasticated cloth still gives way to a larger top more so than a smaller top. The smaller top moves toward the larger top. However, the tops, if they are projected straight ahead when thrown, keep on their general course away from the throw. The whole of the speeding objects and curvature and warping causes the rotations and spins and orbits and so on. WOW… we can’t probably follow in this thought experiment entirely — but its why the solar system keeps working as it is doing. This is why I say its a bit much for the brain. So, watch this:

I’m good with it. How about you? Watch it again if need be. Remember, we don’t have to take a test on this; you only need a basic understanding to move on.

This video is a more complete demonstration of the warps and curves of space-time:

Next, let’s look at how space-time or “the fourth dimension” works using some simple geometry. Again, I was able to find visual examples for you.

Is time uniformly ticking through-out the universe? Well, its not flat like a line from beginning to end — its got curves and ripples and its got bumps and mountains and its got valleys and its possibly got dead ends and so on — not straight like a line from a beginning to an end; not at all that way; yet, simple and yet, not uniform; no, not uniform. So, if one twin got into a futuristic spaceship for a 30 year trip straight out towards the next galaxy and back — what would be the outcome as far as time for the twins — one on Earth and the other traveling to the next galaxy and back?

Okeydokey… here goes:

The concept of time was thought always as starting at zero (a point) – for instance, usually, it is thought of as beginning at the time of the big bang in the physical universe.

Great… but according to research, a parallel universe may have no time dimension or its possible that time may be negative in a parallel universe. See, this is the problem with physics — it may be used to support any virtual possibility… hmm… not to worry on this for now, lets look at the possibility of time travel first. I’ll come back to the parallel universe idea in a future post.

To borrow a bit from some reviews of  “What Einstein Did Not See: Redefining Time to Understand Space” by Thomas W. Sills, contraction of space-time, the fourth physical dimension, becomes equivalent to Einstein’s time dilation. Definitions for time and space words will not help to describe the complex nature of time and space. Einstein’s General Relativity requires more than seeing the relationship as described by his equations to understand fully that time has two components and how these occur. Time is both a vector of space-time and also is a scalar of Universal Time. Let’s look at time and space as though they are separate first with simple geometry:

Youtube watch?v=plQ4wrZvGlI video

The video demonstrates use of Euclidean geometry of three-dimensional projections for four-dimensional space to visually illustrate time flowing; as in time-travel. The book that the video references is “What Einstein Did Not See: Redefining Time to Understand Space” by Thomas W. Sills. [I did not read it.]

There is another reason that I’ve written this — I’ll be getting into more about how space-time is also something that will yield incredible knowledge once it is out of our way. Here is a preview… give this a watch if you have about 10 more minutes:

Youtube watch?v=MN4KC_zlW4g video

For now, the lesson is about how time is relative. So, we’ve learned that travel backward in time is perhaps possible; even without a wormhole. Of course space travel is required and the trip would be lengthy in order for there to be enough time lapsed here while the travelers are in space for the change to be substantially significant. There will be technological and physiological problems yet to overcome as well. Yet, one day, someone may get to travel backwards in time just as illustrated. Imagine returning to Earth to be 5 or 10 or more years younger than a twin. That really would seem strange.

I hope that this may have been enjoyable and informative. I really do hope to get even better at making complex science of the universe easy to learn about, but I’m pretty happy with my progress. Comments, replies, and suggestions or constructive criticisms (or ping-backs) and so on are always welcomed here.

Thanks for reading,

 Eric

One important point to keep in mind regarding any functions of consciousness in the brain is that, even if consciousness serves no functional role whatsoever (as some say), science must explain what consciousness is and how it is part of the natural world.

What is thought — and…

No one knows where thoughts originate

—

how about that!

How do thoughts occur?
Well, it turns out that no one exactly knows. An artist's impression of the gas giant planet thought to be forming in the orbit of young...However, there is evidence that thought originates  from our source… not the brain… no, our energy source.

Watch these video clips and then, let’s talk about it.

Before you experience a conscious thought, there are unconscious brain processes at work behind the scenes that must generate the thought. We know this, but we do not yet have a solid idea regarding what it is about brain function that gives rise to a thought.

Oh… don’t let them tell you there is no God… they can’t prove that any more than they can tell you where thoughts come from or go to.

Hunt 4 Truth

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." https://hunt4truth.wordpress.com/ Absolute Truth is whole, complete and perfect. Absolute Truth is just beyond words, mental concepts, and form; Non-being, yet in everything and yet beyond thought forms. Prayer and meditation fashion in our hearts further honesty, openness, and willingness and thus, we may glimpse guidance and truth to rightly think and act. Any glimpse of truth is not Absolute Truth. It may be sufficient until we renew our commitment to serve God. Life is thus best navigated during mindfulness of prayer and meditation by an inner peace. "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Romans 1:20
