Albert Einstein, Endless Time, gravity, Relativity, Spacetime, time dilation

This is my third year beginning at WordPress. To tell you in one sentence what I’ve learned in these past two years at WordPress, I’ll put it this way:

All of creation is to comprehend together that reality is the experience of expanding kindness.

Eric.2015-MayThere is no other need for time. We are not humans, planets and stars blowing on a solar wind. We are mind. We are with all that is when we are with being in God’s will. True mind is in His love. This is what is important.

The truth is in our kindness.

I’ve known no greater kindness than contemplating a sense of love with Almighty God.

I’ll share with you a kindness today is that I am worthy of love. You are the worth of my love. My challenge today is to understand that. I pray that God will expand in me today, absolute awareness; His love of you in Him.

I was wondering what I’d most love to share as a kickoff into my third year here. I settled on one of my favorite subjects. I’ve always wanted Einstein to be fun at least and maybe even easy-peezy to understand. So, here is my conclusion for today’s contribution. I hope that this is easy as 15 minutes of your time and as wonderful as a visit with your friend may be.

Enjoy:

Einstein’s Relativity: Time Dilation

Einstein: “Any person moving at a constant velocity will observe the same laws of physics that a stationary person observes.”

Since the speed of light is part of the laws of physics, Einstein postulated that all observers will measure the same speed of light regardless of their state of motion. But speed is just a measure of distance moved in a given time and in order to agree on the speed of light different observers might have to disagree about distance and time.

.

…
In 1915 Albert Einstein formulated the theory of general relativity which fundamentally changed our understanding of gravity. He explained gravity as the manifestation of the curvature of space and time. Einstein’s theory predicts that the flow of time is altered by mass. This effect, known as “gravitational time dilation”, causes time to be slowed down near a massive object. It affects everything and everybody; in fact, people working on the ground floor will age slower than their colleagues a floor above, by about 10 nanoseconds in one year. This tiny effect has actually been confirmed in many experiments with very precise clocks. Now, a team of researchers from the University of Vienna, Harvard University and the University of Queensland have discovered that the slowing down of time can explain another perplexing phenomenon: the transition from quantum behavior to our classical, everyday world.

.

The first thing that I felt when I sat back today to begin here was that I’ve missed you all for most of this year while I was working over at my Facebook page. I don’t use WordPress the same way that I’d begun here. This is now a place for pages that I want to feature and not a place where I post a daily update.

Cellular.Eric.FBI connected with more than 1500 friends at Facebook during this past year and my work consumes most of my online time. I hope you will drop on by my FB page if you’d like… really.

My Facebook address is facebook.com/Cellular.Eric

.

Thanks for visiting.

Your WordPress profile can link to a public Gravatar profile and you can control what is publicly displayed and even provide links from your Gravatar profile to your pages at WordPress or elsewhere.

 .

I try to use the Gravatar links from my pages to WordPress users that Like my posts. In many cases (the majority), the Gravatar link is a dead end. If you haven’t been using the Gravatar profiles to provide a link to your WordPress blog, this tip is for you. Even if you already do this, there may be a tip in this post that works for you as well.

To begin: https://wordpress.com/settings/public-profile/

WordPress.Profile.Hunt4Truth

.

You can fill in the basics on your WordPress profile — click to open your public profile. Open https://secure.gravatar.com/site/wpcom/

Gravatar.Profile.Menu

Add your Name and Details.

Gravatar.Profile.Hunt4Truth

You may add HTML links in your About Me text if desired. I added a link to my WordPress blog using embedded HTML code so that the link can be clicked from my WordPress pages. Its simple enough — just change my hunt4truth to your WordPress blog name and insert the code in your About Me text box as shown here:

Gravatar.Link.Hunt4Truth

Gravatar.Hunt4Truth

.

Next, choose an image to display and insert your links to blogs or Websites.

Gravatar.Profile.Menu

Gravatar.Websites.Hunt4Truth

.

Check out your profile and make sure everything is as you like it.

Gravatar.Hunt4Truth.View

.

WordPress offers lots of wigdget and custom theme tweaks. It took some time for me to figure them out, but I did make my page quite nicely do what I like with some customization tweaks to The Chateau Theme that I settled upon.

Thanks for visiting.

“I forgot to finish my part in this awarding – to nominate 14 bloggers. Since it is related to the reblog post, I am adding these into a comment and linking to the bloggers there. Xena and the many bloggers here that take time to share awards (many more promptly than I) inspire us daily and greatly. I hope that you all if new here that visit will check them out.

Blackbutterfly7 has been awarded the “Wonderful Team Member Readership Award” by our friend Coach Muller of Good Time Stories.

Coach Muller blogs stories that make my heart smile, and some that cause me to deeply reflect.   Thanks for the award, Coach. I am deeply honored and grateful.

Reading the blogs that I follow is why I always seem to be late visiting some of them. I truly want to read what they have written. But, this award is not just about the blogs that I read. For me, it’s also about those bloggers who read here. In selecting nominations, I kept that in mind.

Widgets: Posts I like

Have you learned about using widgets yet? WordPress standard (free) has some widgets that you can use to dress up your blog. I’ve included an advance tutorial here but the Widgets I am using are really easy and I’m highlighting the “Posts I Like” widget today.

Posts-I-Like.widgetsI hope this is useful.

The Widgets interface is located from the dashboard in the Appearance sidebar.

Widgets are independent sections of content that can be placed into any widgetized area that is provided by your blog theme (generally these are sidebars and footers). To populate your sidebars/widget areas with individual widgets, drag and drop the widgets title bars onto a desired area. By default, only the first widget area is expanded. To populate additional widget areas, click on their title bars to expand them.

The Available Widgets section contains all the widgets you can choose from. Once you drag a widget into a sidebar, open it and fill it in with your settings. When you are happy with the widget settings, click the Save button and the widget will go live on your site. If you click Delete, it will remove the widget.

My image is of the “Posts I Like” widget displayed on my sidebar. All I had to do was drag it to the appropriate spot in my sidebar in the Widgets window and then select how many posts I wanted to display — 14 is the maximum (limit). I selected a Grid for my display.

.

.

I used the widget Posts I LIke display when I created my page: Spring – my favorite.

When you get an extra minute, please explore the “Posts I Like” widget and visit some of my favorite bloggers by uing the links from my sidebar.

Thanks for learning with me.

YAY!

I have more kind bloggers in my followings than I ever dreamed. The bloggers on my list (below) have done a kindness for me and/or for others or for bloggers using reblog or giving encouragements and by posting helpful information to the community at their blogs. Today, I want honor kind bloggers and also honor and thank Madeleine Maya. Madeleine‘s blog is one of my favorites here at WordPress that provides re-blogs and I follow these often to treasures… and … she has a collection of quotes, images and short posts that I hope everyone will get chance to view. Madeleine has a Masters in Psychology, a Specialization in Family Therapy and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I am fotunate to have found her blog… hope you to will find treasures there.

Barbara Mattio created this, The Award for Love and Kindness, to honor acts of Love and Kindness, and for us to share.  Barbara is a believer that Love and Kindness promote peace in the world. She created this award to give respect and appreciation and to promote these important values.

award.LoveAndKindness

This stunning award is Barbara Mattio’s design. Click the badge to visit her Award for Love and Kindness page.

“It is important for us to remember that we are One Family living in One World; we are Sisters and Brothers, no matter how we look, what culture we live in, what religion we practice or who we love.  In many ways, blogging removes some of the obvious barriers between us, and helps bring those of us from all walks of life, ethnicity, creed, colors and ideals together as One Family,” said Barbara.

The Rules:

  1. Share an act of kindness another blogger has done for you.
  2. Thank the person who nominated you for the award, and link back to  their blog
  3. Nominate those bloggers whom you feel practice Kindness and Love — you choose how many!

My Nominees for The Award for Love and Kindness are:

  • Madeleine Maya
  • Stellingsma2010
  • Fozzy Fitness
  • 5 minutes more please
  • Iana Roy
  • 007 Pandas
  • By Divine-Design
  • Ramblings from Jewles

.

I will visit each site to notify the list…
this award is the coolest.

.

My awards page is here.
I display these awards with thanks and gratitude and links back to the source. It is my great pleasure to share them as well.

A note on posting awards:
When posting awards, it is best to post them onto a page and include the name of the award and how you came to get it. It happens that awards are a very popular search item and  unless you prefer not to be found, this is best.

Apparently, WordPress is not sometimes compatible with Windows Explorer. I had that problem today. I wasn’t able to use WordPress to see the reader list, stats and notifications.

It seems that WordPress got some display changes — probably a lot of folks are having problems with WordPress today.

So, I haven’t seen much today – and – please pardon me for not making rounds today… I missed you all.

what is Bloggers for Peace?

Bloggers for Peace is a group of hundreds of individuals from around the world who have committed to publishing at least one (1) post per month promoting peace or the idea of peace. These posts might be creative stories, articles, photographs, videos, poems, memes, art  or interpretive medium.

Bloggers for Peace is a community effort. I display the image (below) on some of my posts and on my sidebar in support of their efforts and in support of people and communities and of governments working towards peaceful and civil solutions to problems including policing and defending rights and territories and so on.

Bloggers For Peace

What makes maintaining peace extraordinary?

Well, lots of problems crop up and one is quickness to settle for Peace or Freedom. Both peace and freedom require that parties come to mutual agreement to include peace and freedom in their solutions. In other words, one man’s peace is another man’s chaos and thus, someone is out for defending or attacking another party to preserve freedoms.

You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don’t ever count on having both at once.

Robert A. Heinlein,
American Science Fiction Writer

I like to think that there are few exceptions to it that peace is an absolute need that trumps war — and that I’m not by myself the expert on what everyone needs to live in peace and to maintain freedom — and that it really requires making do sometimes or developing dialog and so forth. Living with others is always work. I hope that you’ll consider making a simple commitment to post one article each month to promote peace. Positive promotes positive — we need positive dialog to emerge in troubled places. Peace can increase if people can make just a little more time to promote positive dialog and news about issues and process.

Thanks for visiting.

Liebster AwardI am pleased and honored to be accepting an award today from my fellow blogger, Lauralee beautifulcourageousyou.

.

Thank you Lauralee for thinking of my blog for this honor. (see: http://beautifulcourageousyou.wordpress.com/2013/11/05/award-dearest-nomination/)

Here are answers for the acceptance questions required of the award:

  1. What does writing do for you?
I write for various reasons. Writing is beneficial — emotionally balancing. I write for my work and I once in a while get challenges that cause me to fret but usually I enjoy the work entirely. I write here on my blog and this is rewarding to me because what I put here is of most interest to me. Actually most of my posts are inspirational and this inspires me as I gather these together. I enjoy science posts because these are areas usually that I want to understand more myself.
    _
  2. What writer feeds your soul? Why?
The person that jumped immediately in my mind is Pierre Teilhard de Chardin because he was the first Christian author that I’d read and I’ve read many of his books and essays. I also enjoy reading C.S. Lewis stories with my son and we discuss these. I read the Bible daily – for example 1 John. I loved science fiction and Frank Herbert’s Dune series and others of his along with many books by Ursula K. Le Guin were favorites. These and other work change how I perceive others and myself — we all fit better into the puzzle of life as I explore more in reading other’s works.
    _
  3. What is your favorite subject (category) to write about?
Well, I like to find inspirations, but I suppose I most enjoy writing about science of the universe.
    _
  4. What post of yours means the most to you? Why?
I had a wonderful experience one day that I briefly shared: https://hunt4truth.wordpress.com/2013/10/01/i-am-the-tree-today/. The post contains the why of the experience being meaningful for me.
    _
  5. What about you will be most instrumental in God’s eternal plan for you, whatever that may be?
I may not speak for God; I think that I am a good teacher, but what would be in eternity for me to teach is an unknown. I will be pleased to be doing whatever work there is for me there.
    _
  6. What are you most passionate about in ministry and/or life in general?
I enjoy mentoring adults that need a second chance.
    _
  7. If your writing were discovered a thousand years from now, what would people learn about you, today’s world, and your interests?
I am Christian and I enjoy a variety of interests, ideas and people.
    _
  8. Talk about meeting your favorite Bible character (not Jesus).
I’d like to meet the apostles and especially Thomas. I’d ask them about the trials of being apostles after Jesus ascended and I suppose their views would be fascinating especially since they are in the Kingdom now. I’d love to learn from Noah how he built the ark.
    _
  9. Describe your writing process for something that moves you deeply.
I am deeply moved by the working of our universe and yet it is of course a great mystery in many ways. So, I do research and then I make an outline and many-many edits usually. I keep my writing brief because I try my best to make things interesting for a broad audience – and especially since most blog follows are not because of my science interests.
    _
  10. Describe your perfect meal and ultimate dessert.
I love a tender juicy steak, salad, potato, and crisp green beans and I don’t really want usually to have a dessert at the same time. However, I love to have apple pie and French vanilla ice cream. Probably this seems simple – it is.
    _

My next step is to pass this award on to other bloggers. I’ll enjoy working on that in the next few weeks.

Thanks for visiting.

I am thankful to accept

the

inner-peace-award

from SuzJones http://suzjones.wordpress.com/ Thank you Suz.

I will display the award on my sidebar and on this acceptance page.

Thanks to my mentors, Dave and Kevin for instilling in me the absolute truth that inner peace and serenity is absolutely necessary for spiritual awareness to grow in me and flow from me. Thanks to my friends and associates and my fellows that inspire serenity and inner peace by their examples. Marinating inner peace comes by work as you probably know. We should always celebrate this work and be thankful for any progress that we can make.

I am accepting this award knowing that I am one of the least of those that deserve to be honored by an award for efforts to nurture and foster inner peace. However, I am ecstatic too. Certainly I did cease to be the product of my misdirected youthful ways. I am humbled by the work of true leaders of spiritual growth and I will continue here to honor others. My blog daily is dedicated truth and to inner peace and I do love to honor others too that inspire inner peace and serenity.

I am of course also blessed and thankful that posts that I’ve collected here on wordpress may continue to inspire others.

Inner Peace related posts (to date 11/1/2013) – morning Meditation – only one word was on my mind – meditation changes brains  – how do you Know Him? – is the brain spirituality wired? – Prayer of St. Francis – MercyMe all of creation – I look to you – Give Our Lord the benefit of believing – listen with compassion – our Father – what is done for us – mindfulness and prayerful healing – MercyMe word of God speak  – change from within – experiment in Empathy – your eMotion matters – I just looked around – awakening (again) – I am the tree… today – 1 John (NIV) – LOVE living in the moment – When I Think of You… A new Hallelujah – how do I practice spirituality 1: I breathe – what is the happiest person in the world saying? – can you have the greatest love of all? – prayer heals… hate – heart coherence? – being true is – science and spirituality falling onto entangled minds – why happiness matters in more ways than you think – this is what my soul is telling me: Be Peaceful and Love Everyone – when I find myself in times of trouble… – The entity we call “mind” may not be as neuroscience says, just a manifestation of the brain.

My next task then is to pass on the award… I haven’t been here long, so I’ll have to do some research before doing so. I will create another post with that announcement within a few weeks.

I’m finding that wordpress users like to browse and reply from their readers. I suppose that I’ll have to change the way that I build pages so that you all can see my pages somewhat correctly from within your reader/browsers. Meantime, if you open the actual pages, you’ll find in many cases that I’ve included images, video, and other information that isn’t showing up in your readers.

I’m looking into it.

Any suggestions, ideas, etc. are appreciated.

THANKS.

I’m really liking wordpress… I liked the other (xanga) blog tools so much and this one is more challenging that way — but really, I must say, I love the people I’ve been meeting here (some came also from xanga).

If you did get a backup at Xanga… here’s how to move if you want the whole backup on wordpress: http://blog.encode.co.nz/2013/06/05/jumping-ship-how-to-migrate-a-blog-form-xanga-to-wordpress/

Hunt 4 Truth

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." https://hunt4truth.wordpress.com/ Absolute Truth is whole, complete and perfect. Absolute Truth is just beyond words, mental concepts, and form; Non-being, yet in everything and yet beyond thought forms. Prayer and meditation fashion in our hearts further honesty, openness, and willingness and thus, we may glimpse guidance and truth to rightly think and act. Any glimpse of truth is not Absolute Truth. It may be sufficient until we renew our commitment to serve God. Life is thus best navigated during mindfulness of prayer and meditation by an inner peace. "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Romans 1:20
